It’s been a really memorable week . . . and here is the finale .

Tonight, Saturday September 13 marks the final round of recitals by our top three pianists; John Fisher, Daniel Le and Alex Raineri. They are performing to a packed house tonight with ABC Classic FM recording every note which will be aired around the country on Sunday afternoon September 14.

During the week the 13 finalists were required to perform masterworks by the likes of Beethoven, Bach, Schubert and Debussy, covering Baroque, Classical, 19th Century Romantic and French Impressionist music and music written after 1950. Plus they choose an Australian work to complete their repertoire, in order to win – total cash and prizes worth $65,000.

Just being chosen to compete in this Award helps boost all thirteen pianists’ musical careers and their reputation globally.  Being known as the winner of the 2014 Australian National Piano Award is the cream to what has been a magnificent week of music making at the elite level.

Join us to see how John, Daniel and Alex go; they’ve chosen their repertoire, they’re warmed up and ready and are waiting in the wings for the big gig tonight.
