Artistic Director

A message from Wendy Lorenz.

Founding Artistic Director, Professor Max Cooke OAM, expressed his hope and belief that it will be the winners of this Award who will help to keep the great traditions of music alive in the future.

The Award places emphasis on the performer’s ability to engage on the deepest level with the masterworks of our rich piano literature.

I will continue to echo these sentiments and I believe his hopes have been realised based on our outstanding list of successful past recipients.

I’m very much looking forward to experiencing the fine performances that have become the hallmark of this highly important and artistically relevant competition.
