Adam McMillan is a Brisbane-born, Melbourne-based pianist who performs regularly as a recitalist, chamber musician and concerto soloist. He completed his Bachelor of Music with First Class Honours and a University Medal at the Queensland Conservatorium under Jenni Flemming, where he was a recipient of the Sir Samuel Griffith Scholarship. He subsequently studied at the Australian National Academy of Music with Timothy Young.

Adam has received a number of prizes, including First Prize at the Melbourne Recital Centre Great Romantics Competition, the Queensland Piano Competition and the Musica Viva Chamber Music Prize. From 2018 to 2019, he was a recipient of the Margaret Schofield and Mel and Nina Waters scholarships with Melba Opera Trust.

Performance highlights include duet recitals with Garrick Ohlsson for Musica Viva, Rachmaninoff's Third Piano Concerto with the Bendigo Symphony Orchestra, the Australian Showcase at the Sydney International Piano Competition, the Huon Music Festival, the Canberra International Music Festival and the Australian Piano Duo Festival. Adam's performances have been broadcast on ABC Classic, 3MBS and 4MBS.

Outside of music, Adam has completed a Bachelor of Psychology with Honours at Deakin University and is near completion of a Master of Information Technology at the University of Melbourne. He is also a member of Ensemble CANE alongside flutist Eliza Shephard, saxophonist Niels Bijl and composer and director Christopher Healey.
