Dono Ng completed his Bachelor of Music (Performance) with First Class Honours at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music under Dr Paul Rickard-Ford. He previously studied with Julie Kuok and Dr Kirill Monorosi, and has attended masterclasses with Professor Konstantin Scherbakov since 2022.

At the 2021 Lev Vlassenko Piano Competition, Dono received Third Prize, the Betty Byrne Henderson Encouragement Award, Best Performance of a Piece by Chopin and Best Performance of a Virtuoso Etude. He made his concerto debut at the competition, performing Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Johannes Fritzsch.

In 2023, Dono organised the Rachmaninoff 150th celebration concert series at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. The following year, he initiated the ongoing series Medtner and his Pianism and co-founded the Medtner Chamber Orchestra of Sydney, performing Shostakovich's Piano Concerto No. 1 in the orchestra's inaugural concert alongside trumpeter Elizabeth Dawson, under the baton of Alexander Yau.

A casual lecturer in Collaborative Piano at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Dono is also a finalist of the Geoffrey Parsons Award (2021 and 2023) and is in high demand as a collaborative pianist.
