Kevin Suherman has a Bachelor of Music with Honours from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music where he studied with the late Max Cooke OAM.

At the Royal Academy of Music in London, Kevin completed an Advanced Diploma in Performance, where he specialised in Liszt’s transcriptions of Beethoven symphonies with Joanna MacGregor CBE. He also completed a Master of Arts and received a DipRAM (Diploma of the Royal Academy of Music) for an outstanding final recital.

Since the age of 10, Kevin has performed internationally. He received a MURI award from the Indonesian World Records Museum as the youngest pianist to perform 50 pieces from memory in a 3-hour concert on live national television.  

Kevin has performed at Wigmore Hall in London, Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay in Singapore and the Melbourne Recital Centre. He was a soloist with the Jakarta Simfonia Orchestra, the Royal Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra and the Chamber Strings of Melbourne.

At the Internationale Sommerakademie Mozarteum Salzburg, Kevin collaborated with Karl-Heinz Kämmerling and Rolf Plagge. He has also worked with musicians such as Menahem Pressler, Paul Badura-Skoda and Andrea Bonatta as well as conductors, including André de Quadros, Sian Edwards and Stephen Tong.

Kevin received first prizes at the Australian Youth Classical Music Competition, the Melbourne Recital Centre Great Romantics Competition and the Royal South Street Society Celebrating Chopin Competition.

As an artist of Schimmel Pianos (Germany), Kevin has recorded three albums featuring Schumann’s Carnaval, Chopin’s 24 Preludes and his own arrangements of Indonesian folksongs.
