Erna Werner, one of the founding members of the Australian National Piano Award, died on September 15 in Geelong following a short illness. ANPA President, Darryl Coote, paid tribute to Erna as one of the co-founders of the Award and as the person who had suggested the need for a major national piano competition.

Tony Lee from Sydney won the 2016 Australian National Piano Award. Coming a close second was Peter de Jager from Melbourne and an exceptional third place was Oliver She from Brisbane.

Tony Lee is on first, followed by Peter de Jager and then Oliver She will complete the night's entertainment and then the nailbiting session for the audience, and the pianists begins.
